Rule 1: Respect others
A skier or snowboarder must behave in such a way that he does not endanger or harm other skiers.
Rule 2: Controlling speed while skiing or snowboarding
A skier or snowboarder must move with control. He must adapt the speed and manner of skiing or snowboarding to his abilities and to the prevailing conditions of the piste, snow and weather as well as the traffic on the piste.
Rule 3: Choosing the route
A skier or snowboarder coming from behind must choose his route in such a way that he does not endanger skiers or snowboarders in front.
Rule 4: Overtaking
A skier or snowboarder may overtake another skier or snowboarder from above or below and from the right or left provided that he leaves enough space between him and the other skier or snowboarder for the overtaking to make any intentional or unintentional movement.
Rule 5: Entry, start and upward movement
A skier or snowboarder, upon re-entering a slope after stopping or moving upward (on the slope), must check the upper and lower parts of the slope so as not to endanger himself or others.
Rule 6: Stopping on the slope
Unless absolutely necessary, a skier or snowboarder must avoid stopping on the slope in narrow places or where visibility is limited. After a fall at such a point, the skier or snowboarder must clear the slope as soon as possible.
Rule 7: Ascending and descending on foot
A skier or snowboarder, whether ascending or descending the slope on foot, must limit himself to the side of the slope.
Rule 8: Observing signs and markings
A skier or snowboarder must respect all warning signs and markings.
Rule 9: Providing assistance
In the event of an accident, every skier or snowboarder has a duty to help.
Rule 10: Verifying information
After an accident, every skier or snowboarder and any witnesses, regardless of whether they are at fault or not, must exchange names and addresses.
